Storm Devastates Village Served by Ministerio Linaje Escogido — Here's How You Can Help
On Monday, June 2, 2025, the village of Colonial 25 de Octubre—a community we’ve been blessed to serve through Ministerio Linaje Escogido Comayagua—was struck by a powerful storm with hurricane-force winds and heavy rain.
The storm caused the collapse of the local school building where families often gather. Several mothers and children were temporarily trapped in the rubble, and Pastor Peter was injured when part of the structure fell. By God’s grace, we are relieved and thankful to report that everyone survived and is now safe.
Unfortunately, the school—an important center of learning and hope—suffered major damage, along with many homes in the village.
This community is resilient, but the road to recovery will not be easy.
We are asking, if you feel led, to consider making a donation. 100% of what you give will go directly to:
- Rebuilding the school
- Repairing damaged homes
- Providing food and clean water
- Offering temporary shelter to families in need

My name is Janelle Simoneau and I am the treasurer of LST. I am retired and love
camping, reading and playing June’s Journey. I am a numbers person. So when
April approached me about this position, I jumped at the opportunity to minister
in this way. (After praying about it of course.) I’m excited to see how God will use
this organization.

Peter and Katherine Hearne are the Pastors of Linaje Escogido Comayagua in Comayagua, Honduras. They have been serving in the community for many years. They are the feet on the ground, supplying the Board with information and advising as to what is needed, next steps and providing the manpower to ensure the needs are met. Without the advice of these critical team members, our Foundation could not operate.
